The new vintages of the whole range of our wines are being released these days. Just 1 word to describe them: "great". We are also pleased to introduce a new-born Barolo, Cru Pria-Capalot 2004 docg: this wine stands as a starting point of at least ten years of investments in the vineyards and in the winecellars to be followed by further prestigious selection we will present you very soon.

We would also like to tell you more about our wine making philosophy:
Piemonte is one of the leading regions in Italy for top-quality wine making. A century-long tradition of small wineries keeps the name of Piemonte wines high all over the world. Our company fits into this pattern of family-run traditional wineries.
The Azienda Agricola San Biagio was established at the beginning of the 20th century and is located in La Morra, actually the most important of the eleven towns where Barolo is produced.
 Our estate broadens over 18 hectares and is family-run. All of the vineyards are part of a broader area which is particularly suitable to the raising of Nebbiolo grapes at their best (Grandi Vigne del Barolo): Sorì del Rovere are amongst the most prestigious parcels of land.

Since foundation, we have been dedicated to carry on a quality-oriented activity both in the vineyards (only selected grapes and low yields of about 60 quintals per hectare) and in the winery, where traditional methods (wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered) contribute to austere, elegant, complex and structured wines, suitable to long ageing. The features that you find in each glass mirror the characteristics of the terroir the wine comes from. Our wines are truly symbolic of the Alba and Langhe wine region.

Our wines have appeared in some of the most prestigious guides to Italian wines and have been awarded very good reviews by experts worldwide:

* Wine Spectator – Jan/February 2008- pag. 156:  Barolo Sorì del Rovere 2003: 90 points; Barolo 2003: 86 points

* Wine News – October/November 2007- pag. 89
- Barolo San Biagio 2001 Riserva: 95 points
- San Biagio Langhe Rosso Janin 2004: 94 points
- Barbaresco Vigna Montersino 2004: 95 points “..Fragrant, perfumed aromas of cherry, red berry and cedar. Similar flavours replicate the nose with added nuances of dried tobacco, dust and mocha. Seamless finish bespeaks the wine’s superb balance..”

* Wine News – August/September 2007- Todd M. Wernstrom “ZIN MEpag. 12 -  ..I Love a well-done Nebbiolo, especially when it’s about earth tones, dried cherry and licorice (San Biagio Barolos have made me happier each successive vintage…”

* Tasted - Winter 2006/2007- “My Top Picks”  by Andreas Larsson pag. 216 – San Biagio Langhe Rosso Janin…” Ripe blackcurrants, plum, spices, and leather dominates the nose. The palate is very polished with velvety tannins, nice fruit, integrated acidity and a long elegant finish. Good..”

* Decanter, Supplement Italy 2002 Buying Guide, where our Barbera d’Alba was described as “Smokey bacon, blackberry fruit and vanilla. Intense and aromatic, with layers of ripe fruit, real complexity and an exemplary structure.”

* Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Issue 124: our Barolo 1997 scored 90 and was further described as “Its dark ruby color is followed by aromas of cherry and blackberry fruit, and garrigue. Full-bodied, fat, succulent flavours, low acidity, and a chewy, high alcohol finish further characterize this wine. This full throttle Barolo is impressive in a hedonistic sense. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2015.”

*  Wine News,October/November 2004, by Todd M. Wernstrom “Advanced Italian”: “Deciding which to highlight from the prestigious hills of Barolo was just as difficult. The 1996 S. Biagio Riserva is the epitome of Barolo’s combination of grace and power: it’s loaded with licorice, dried cherry, dust and walnut flavours.”
